Casket Arts—Art-A-Whirl Preview Saturday May 9!
The artists of the Casket Arts campus invite you to preview studios and original artwork as we prepare for Art-a-Whirl! We know that many potential and repeat visitors shy away from the crowds and traffic of Art-A-Whirl weekend (May 15-17)—so we are excited to offer you a low-key alternative the Saturday before, May 9, 11 am – 4 pm.
While AAW is exciting in its scope throughout the NE Minneapolis Arts District and the additional live music, food trucks, and more, Preview Saturday offers a calmer opportunity to view (and acquire!) new art and interact more personally with the artists.
Plenty of on-street free parking! Our studios (the Casket Arts main building, Carriage House and Factory) present everything from painting, sculpture, drawing, and photography to jewelry, metal and wood works, ceramics and printmaking.

The100+ artists and makers of Casket Arts campus (Casket Arts Building, Carriage House and The Factory) can’t wait to see you at our Open Studios weekend during the Northeast Minneapolis Artists Association’s 32nd annual ART-A-WHIRL®! A shopping and art exhibition experience like no other, our talented tenants open their studios to show and sell exciting new work in:

The entire Casket Arts campus will be sizzling with activity, from the lower level to the fourth floor in the main building, throughout the three-story Carriage House out back, and into the NE Sculpture Gallery in the Factory building next door. Expect artist demos, food trucks, live music, the basement Speakeasy, and of course open studios filled with the best artists in the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District- voted America’s Best Arts District in 2022 & 2023 (and in the top ten 2024 and 2025) USA Today Readers’ Surveys.
